Sunil Grover is coming back to television after breaking away from The Kapil Sharma Show. The actor-comedian will be headlining Kanpur Wale Khuranas on Star Plus, which will also feature Ali Asgar, Upasana Singh and Sugandha Mishra.
The latest addition to the show’s cast is director-choreographer Farah Khan. A report by Mumbai Mirror has quoted her as saying,
Kunal Kemmu had taken to Twitter to share his excitement about being part of the show. However, reports suggest that he has been replaced by Stree actor Aparshakti Khurana due to a clash in dates with Kunal’s upcoming film Kalank.
In the first clip of the show that has been released, the topic of discussion between the Khuranas seems to be the #DeepVeer wedding. Check it out here:
Sunil had earlier introduced the ensemble of the cast.
“Namaste from Kanpur wale Khuranas. They all are hoping to bring a smile on your face. Soon on Star Plus,” he wrote on Instagram.
Talking about his show Sunil told PTI, “I am happy to be back on the small screen with a fresh concept. This character is unlike any I’ve played before and I am very excited to embark on this journey of entertaining my viewers. The show is sure to charm everyone alike with a theme that resonates with the viewers and keep them hooked onto their television screens at night.”
Sunil also spoke to a digital publication on reuniting with Kapil Sharma, “Abhi tak to aisa koi vichar nahin hai. Kyunki... main shooting mein hoon aur fir yeh show bhi hai saath mein to kuch aisa nahin hai,” he stated, revealing that there was no imminent plan.
