The fan frenzy around Tubelight was missing. Unlike most Salman Khan Eid releases over the years, this Kabir Khan directed film seemed to be low on the pre-release buzz that is normally associated with Salman’s films. The reviews of the film too weren’t encouraging and all this seem to have affected the film’s opening day collections.

Film trade analyst Taran Adarsh has tweeted that Tubelight raked in Rs 21.15 crore on Friday.

While Rs 21.15 crore is not a disappointing figure for the first day earning of a new release, it’s not impressive when viewed with the collections of previous Salman Khan films.

Remember, Bajrangi Bhaijaan earned over Rs 27 crore and Sultan collected over Rs 36 crore previously.

While, there might be a spike in collections on Monday during Eid, without a strong word-of-mouth, Tubelight’s collections may see an overall dip in the coming days.
