According to PV Sunil, director and CEO of Carnival Cinemas, only two percent of India watched Salman Khan’s blockbuster Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

Speaking at the ongoing Indywood Film Market, Sunil said:

It’s startling to know only two percent of India’s population has watched the film, which has collected over Rs 300 crores from Indian theatres. Even if we can increase the footfall to five percent, it will hugely benefit the overall revenue of Indian cinema.

The session was on the number of footfalls in Indian theatres, where it was also revealed that while only seven screens cater to one million people in India, the number is 100 screens for the US.
