Remember the super catchy Lean On, which became the masses’ go-to anthem for parties? Three years on, DJ Snake has dropped another single inspired by India.

This track, called Magenta Riddim, is all about firefighters who cannot stop dancing in a town in Telangana.

The video was released by the French DJ on April 11. The vivid visuals and the foot-tapping beat come together to tell us the story of a firefighting squad, who combat flames while grooving to the beat, with huge smiles on their faces.

DJ Snake also wrote in an Instagram post that this was possibly his “best video ever”. He added, “India Is so special to me. It has inspired me a lot. The colours, the people, the music, the culture. I couldn’t film it anywhere else in the world. From Grammy nominations and billions of views - we now have the video for ‘Magenta Riddim’. I hope you enjoy.”

Reportedly shot in Hyderabad and parts of Telangana, Magenta Riddim apparently features local artistes who have worked in Tollywood.

The music video is also directed by Gal Muggia and Vania Heymann, who were also behind the visually mesmerising music video of Up & Up by Coldplay.

Magenta Riddim itself has all the makings of an Indian masala film – lovable characters, a song and dance as well as an interesting twist at the end. You’ll also spot plenty of Telugu graffiti and markers in the video.

DJ Snake too has a short role in the video towards the beginning and end, as a French firefighter.
