The makers of upcoming Ayushmann Khurrana-starrer Dream Girl recently dropped a new song titled ‘Dhagala Lagali’. A remix of the classic Dada Kondke track ‘Dhagala Lagli’, the video of the song features Ayushmann, Riteish Deshmukh and Nushrat Bharucha. The new version is sung by Mika Singh & Jyotica Tangri. It has music by Meet Bros and lyrics by Kumaar.

Even before the release of Dream Girl, the cast of the film is absolutely surprised by the responses they have been receiving.

“The song has reached some million views. I don’t know how many but it has. It’s good fun. And we’re excited about the film.”

Here’s what Nushrat Bharucha had to say about the script of the film.

“When I heard the story, I thought it was hilarious but I didn’t think I’d like it so much. There are so many memes being made on the various dialogues from the trailer. The writing is outstanding.”

The video of ‘Dhagala Lagali’ is loud and colourful. From the set design to the clothes worn by the actors, it’s all bursting with vibrancy.

“I can’t explain what the costume is. It’s so full of colours. During childhood, we used to play that game ‘tipy tipy tap, what colour you want?’ Now, you can play that game on my costume.”

Ayushmann and Nushrat also spoke about how filming ‘Dhagala Lagali’ was such a different and unique experience for both of them.

“It’s a Marathi folk song. It’s a song from the time of Dada Kondke. So, lot of fun.”

“This is the first time I’ve done a song with a rain sequence, wherein my feet are slipping, I’m not sure about my hair, makeup. We’re just not bothered. It was  so much fun. The minute the rain come on,  I thought yes! This is what it’s like! I felt like I was at a dance party.”
