Kabali fever has just begun and it’s far from ending anytime soon. After the first day fan mania and fun, let’s get down to business. So how much did Kabali really make at the box office till Saturday, 23rd July? Well, every film trade analyst seems to have different figures and the producers have come up with yet another BIG number. So, let’s do the math.
According to movie critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the North India collection of Hindi, Tamil and Telugu version of the film was Rs 5.20 crore (approximately) on the 1st day, 22nd July followed by Rs 6.20 crore (approximately) the next day, 23rd July. This brings the total to Rs 11.40 crore (approximately) in North India market.
Naturally, the film’s biggest business is in the South market, where it was released in two languages, Tamil and Telugu.
On its first day, the film opened with record breaking box office numbers. According to south film trade analyst Sreedhar Pillai, Kabali made Rs 21.5 crore (approximately) in Tamil Nadu alone.
In Andhra and Telengana, the film is said to have netted around Rs 9.5 crore (approximately).
In Karnataka, the Tamil version of the film is said to have netted around Rs 5.10 crore (approximately).
In Kerala, the film earned around Rs 3 crore (approximately) on day one
This brings Kabali’s total earnings in South India to Rs 39.1 crore (approximately) on day one of its release.
However, the film’s producer S Thanu left everyone shocked when he claimed Kabali has eared Rs 250 crore on Friday itself. In a statement he said
