No Plans to Remake ‘Money Heist’ For Netflix, Says SRK

Shah Rukh Khan has dismissed rumours that his production house Red Chillies Entertainment will remake Spanish show Money Heist in Hindi for Netflix. Earlier in August, Mumbai Mirror had reported that an adaptation of the show, which revolves around a criminal mastermind who recruits a group of robbers to fulfil his plan to print billions of euros in the Royal Mint of Spain, was in the works.
Speaking to film critic Rajeev Masand, SRK confirmed,
Shah Rukh’s Red Chillies is currently collaborating with Netflix on three productions: Emraan Hashmi-starrer Bard of Blood, which is an adaptation of a novel of the same name by Bilal Siddiqui; horror series Betaal, which is being helmed by Ghoul director Patrick Graham; and Class of 83, a Netflix India original film starring Bobby Deol.
When asked whether he’d consider starring in a Netflix production himself, SRK had this to say: “Nothing’s been offered to me. I’m a television actor. If there is something that excites me, I would do it.”
Shah Rukh also opened up about his kids Aryan and Suhana making their first foray into Bollywood. “As actors, as filmmakers, my kids – if they wish to come in [to Bollywood] – they have to bring something new. They can’t live off the stuff their father has already done. And if I impose myself, they won’t be able to do. Let them just go and bring them something radical and new and strange – wrong, maybe – but it should be newer that what I have been able to give,” he said. “AbRam, I’ll teach him how to be king,” he added cheekily, referring to his youngest son.
