Did Netflix India just hint at the release of Sacred Games 2? Maybe.

On Monday, Netflix India’s Instagram page hopped onto the Snapchat baby-filter bandwagon and posted a collage featuring baby versions of Kukoo (Kubbra Sait), Anjali Mathur (Radhika Apte), Katekar (Jitendra Joshi) and Bunty (Jatin Sarna). The caption, as usual, was very cryptic.

25 din mein school shuru hone wala hain (School will begin in 25 days)“, wrote Netflix in the caption of the photo.

If one were to do the math...25 days from today would be 14 June. Should we be excited?

Naturally, the post has fans both cracking up over the photos as well as speculating if the makers are going to drop the trailer or a second teaser at least of the next season of Sacred Games.

On 6 May, the streaming giant dropped a teaser introducing the new characters. According to the teaser, Ranvir Shorey and Kalki Koechlin will be joining the cast of Sacred Games 2. The streaming platform recently revealed the news along with glimpses of the two actors’ looks from the show.

Ranvir can be seen wielding a gun, though one can’t be sure whether he’s one of the good guys or not. Kalki can be spotted wearing a necklace with a symbol that could prove to be significant to the story.

Ranvir Shorey has joined the cast of season 2 of Sacred Games.
Is the symbol on Kalki’s pendant of significance to her role in the show?

The teaser also puts a spotlight on Pankaj Tripathi’s Guriji who is expected to have a major role in season 2, after brief appearances as Ganesh Gaitonde’s “teesra baap (third father)” in season 1.

However, this isn’t the first time Netflix is being so cryptic. The online streaming platform had put out a series of social media posts leading up to 1 April. Only to later reveal that the posts were very much in spirit with April Fool’s Day and actually leading up to the Sacred Games cast promoting the TV show Friends on Netflix.

Sacred Games stars Saif Ali Khan as Sartaj and Nawazuddin Siddiqui as Ganesh Gaitonde. The series is an adaptation of Vikram Chandra’s novel of the same name.
