Daniel Craig of James Bond fame could be in India next month – if all goes according to plan.

According to a Mid-Day report, Craig will be in Delhi on 11 June to be the star attraction at a charity football match between Bollywood celebrities and politicians.

The UN named Craig as the global advocate for elimination of mines and explosive hazards during the International Happiness Day celebrations in March this year.

The James Bond star recently joined hands with Italian activist-diplomat Angelo Antonio Toriello, whose organisation, Humanicy, focusses on the role of humanities and culture in shaping diplomacy.

Toriello, who is organising the football match, was in Mumbai recently to oversee the arrangements with his India team for the fundraiser.

Considering Daniel Craig’s contribution to the social cause, he is keen to lend support to our initiatives. We have already approached him and sounded him about the gala. He has evinced a desire to visit India. We are giving him an occasion to lend support to our causes. We are hopeful that he will be able to be there for the gala.
