1. We’ve to Let Rk Studio Go With a Very Heavy Heart: Randhir Kapoor

The famous RK Studio, built from scratch by the legendary Raj Kapoor, is up for sale. The decision was taken by the Kapoor family which includes Raj Kapoor’s wife Krishna Raj Kapoor, his sons Randhir, Rishi and Rajiv Kapoor and his daughters Ritu Nanda and Rima Jain. The Quint caught up with Randhir Kapoor, who spoke about how difficult a decision it has been for the family, and how the fire that broke out in the studio on 16 September 2017 destroyed invaluable memorabilia.

2. Sui Dhaaga’s “Chaav Laaga” Is All About Old School Romance

"Chaav Laaga” is the latest number to be released from Sui Dhaaga, starring Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma. The soulful romantic number is composed by Anu Malik and sung by Papon and Ronkini Gupta. The song has been penned by Varun Grover.

3. ‘Gold’ Box Office: Akshay Kumar Film Inches Towards Rs 100 Crore

Akshay Kumar-Mouni Roy-starrer Gold opened big at the box office. Releasing on Independence Day, the patriotic sports drama had the highest opening as far as Akshay Kumar’s films go, but since shown a sharp dip in business.

While the Reema Kagti film raked in around Rs 81.30 crore over the long opening weekend of nine days, it failed to hold on to the numbers subsequently. It would be crossing the Rs 100-crore mark for sure, but given its opening numbers, Gold failed to perform adequately. Week 2 saw the film earning Rs 9.70 crore, bringing the total to Rs 99 crore.

4. Mani Ratnam Returns With Action-Packed ‘Chekka Chivantha Vaanam’

After Kaatru Veliyidai last year, filmmaker Mani Ratnam is back already with his new film Chekka Chivaantha Vaanam. After the romantic drama of his last three features Kadal, O Kadhal Kanmani and Kaatru, Mani has switched tracks with a gangster drama. Chekka looks to be an action-packed change of pace for the director, with the trailer promising a family drama reminiscent of The Godfather and his own Thalapathi.

5. Asia Argento Removed as Jury of ‘X Factor Italy’

Actress Asia Argento, who has been accused of sexual assault against musician Jimmy Bennett, will no longer be a part of the judging panel of the twelfth season of the show X Factor Italy.

According to sources, Argento has been expelled from the show amid the allegations that she has settled the accusation with Bennett for a sum of $380,000, and now the live portion of the show will officially begin with a new judge, reports variety.com.
