Singer Mika Singh recently faced flak from social media users for performing in Pakistan and was also banned by the AICWA from the Indian film industry. The singer has now returned to India chanting Bharat Mata Ki Jai. Mika took to Twitter as he shared a video of him shouting the same at Wagah Border.

With the video, he wrote, "Bharat Mata ki Jai! Thank you everyone for such a warm welcome. Happy Independence Day once again and salute to our jawans. They aren't able to celebrate any festival, all to make our lives better. Jai hind.”

Netizens are clearly not happy with the same as most say that the damage has already been done. While one user said, "Ab kya fayda tera career to gaya after performing in Pakistan," another one wrote, “Damage already done.”

On 14 June, the All Indian Cine Workers Association (AICWA) had banned singer Mika Singh from the Indian film industry for performing at the wedding of the daughter of a billionaire who is said to be close to the country’s former president General Pervez Musharraf.

AICWA President Suresh Shyamlal Gupta issued a letter that reads:

“AICWA bans and boycott singer Mika Singh from the Indian film industry for performing at a high profile event at Karachi dated 8 August, 2019. AICWA takes a tough stand of immediately boycotting all his association with movie production houses, music companies and online music content providers.”
