Uri: The Surgical Strike opened to mostly positive reviews on 11 January and, according to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, got a “flying start” at the box office. The military drama earned Rs 8.20 crore on its first day and is expected to continue to do well over the weekend. A special screening was held for B-town stars on Saturday which saw Ranveer Singh, Katrina Kaif and other stars. Internet sensation, Priya Prakash Varrier posed for an epic selfie with Ranveer. The film is based on the retaliatory surgical strikes carried out by the Indian army in POK in 2016. It has been directed by Aditya Dhar and stars Vicky Kaushal, Yami Gautam, Paresh Rawal and Mohit Raina.
