Oscar winning actor Cuba Gooding Jr has been charged with forcible touching after he was accused of groping a woman in a Manhattan bar.

According to Variety, a 29-year-old woman claimed that on Sunday 9 June, Cuba grabbed her breast while she was drinking at the Magic Hour Rooftop Bar and Lounge on Seventh Avenue near West 36th Street in New York.

The Jerry Maguire actor has denied all the allegations.

51-year-old Cuba turned himself in to the police on Thursday 13 June after which he was charged with forcible touching, which is a misdemeanour in the state. If proven guilty, the actor could face up to one year prison term under New York state law.

Later that day, Cuba was released without bail and is set to return to court on 26 June.

His lawyer, Mark Heller, told USA Today that his client will plead not guilty in the case.

Cuba broke out with 1991 film Boyz n the Hood and is most popularly known for his role in Cameron Cruise’s Tom Cruise starrer Jerry Maguire and later won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for his performance. He most recently portrayed OJ Simpson in FX’s Emmy winning series The People vs OJ Simpson: American Crime Story.
