The Mumbai police has filed a non-cognisable complaint against a woman who stood outside actor Varun Dhawan’s Juhu residence and allegedly hurled abuses at the Badlapur actor and his family, threatened to harm his girlfriend Natasha Dalal and commit suicide if he did not come out to meet her.

The case has been registered at the Santacruz police station under sections 504 (punishment for intentional insult and with intent to provoke breach of peace) and 506 (punishment for criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), reports Hindustan Times.

Abstaining from commenting on the matter, Varun Dhawan told IANS, “The police has got involved in the matter, so I will refrain from speaking on the incident. Keeping that aside, I am generally saying that it is a wrong thing. My loved ones should not have to pay any price because of my celebrity status. It is wrong. I am a very approachable guy when it comes to fans. I always take out time for them. I love my fans as much as they love me. But any bitter incident is not expected."

Varun Dhawan will be seen next in Kalank, as part of an ensemble cast featuring Alia Bhatt, Madhuri Dixit, Sanjay Dutt, Aditya Roy Kapur and Sanjay Dutt. He is also part of Remo D’Souza’s Street Dancer 3D.
