1. SRK, Akshay & B’wood Over the Moon About Chandrayaan 2 Launch

India’s second lunar mission, Chandrayaan-2, was launched on Monday, 22 July, from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, a week after the lift-off was terminated due to a technical glitch.

As GSLV Mk-III launch vehicle, also known as ‘Bahubali’, took off from the launchpad in Andhra Pradesh, celebrities took to social media to congratulate the team of scientists at the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on a successful mission. Shah Rukh Khan cheered the team on their success with a reference to ‘Chand Taare Tod Lau’, a song from his 1997 film Yes Boss.

2. Big B, Swara Bhasker & B’Town Congratulate Hima Das on Five Golds

Amitabh Bachchan, Swara Bhasker and other Bollywood celebs have congratulated Hima Das on her 5th gold medal in a month.

Indian sprinter Hima Das claimed her fifth gold of the month in the 400m race at the Nove Mesto nad Metuji Grand Prix in the Czech Republic on Saturday, 20 July. The athlete has had a ‘golden run’ since 2 July when she won 200m gold at the Poznan Athletics Grand Prix in Poland. She went on to win the 200m gold at the Kutno Athletics Meet in Poland on 7 July; her third gold at the Kladno Athletics Meet in the Czech Republic on 13 July; and her fourth gold in the 200m race at the Tabor Athletics Meet, also in the Czech Republic on 17 July.

Bollywood celebs such as Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher, Anil Kapoor and Swara Bhasker have taken to social media to congratulate Das on her achievements.

3. Sonakshi Says ‘Baat Toh Karo’ in New Khandaani Shafakhana Trailer

After leaving the audience in splits with the first trailer of Khandaani Shafakhana,the team of the film is back with another trailer with the tagline ‘Baat Toh Karo’. Sonakshi Sinha is forced to run a clinic that prompts her to talk to men about sex and sexual disorders, a topic that is a taboo in small cities.

In the trailer, she is seen trying to manage the clinic, finances and find answers to her patients’ woes. Badshah, who’ll be probably seen as a patient, is making his acting debut with the film. With his and Varun Sharma’s help, Sonakshi urges people to talk about sex and sexual disorders freely and openly. The trailer clip follows her as she faces hurdles in doing so.

4. Kiara Advani Pens Thank You Note as Kabir Singh Completes a Month

Actor Kiara Advani, who played the leading lady in Kabir Singh alongside Shahid Kapoor, took to Instagram to pen a heartfelt thank you note to the entire team and the audience, as the film completed one month in theatres on the weekend.

“Every time I have tried to put down my feelings on Kabir Singh I don’t know where to begin, this attempt will not do justice either, to how truly grateful I am, to my team, and the audience for making our film what it has become today,” Kiara wrote in an Instagram post.

5. ‘Mard’ Abhimanyu & YouTube Star Shirley Together in ‘Nikamma’

Mard Ko Dard Nahi Hota actor and 90s star Bhagyashree’s son Abhimanyu Dassani and social media star Shirley Setia have come together for Baaghi director Sabbir Khan's action film Nikamma.

Sony Pictures International Productions and Sabbir have come together for what they are calling “a cracker of an entertainer.” Sabbir has earlier directed Heropantiwhich marked the debuts of Tiger Shroff and Kriti Sanon.
