Deepika Padukone has joined the long list of Bollywood celebs who have put their money behind start-ups with her investment in Drum Foods International, the company behind the yoghurt brand Epigamia. The actor invested an undisclosed amount in the company as part of their Series C round of investments and will own equity as part of the deal. According to reports, Deepika had previously backed furniture rental platform Furlenco and beauty e-commerce store Purplle, amongst other brands.

According to a celebrity brand evaluation report by Duff & Phelps (2018), Deepika ranks the second-highest in brand value in the country, after Virat Kohli, at $102.5 million (over Rs 700 crores). Besides being an investor, Deepika might also be brought on board as brand ambassador.

Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, and Bipasha Basu are among those Bollywood celebrities who have invested in start-ups.
