Sheikh Hamad Isa Ali Al Khalifa, a Bahraini royal allegedly struck a deal worth 35 million pound with Egyptian entrepreneur Ahmed Adel Abdallah Ahmed to pay for meetings with 26 top actors from the Indian film industry - the likes of Shah Rukh Khan, Ranveer Singh and Aishwarya Rai. Sheikh Hamad reportedly harbours a ‘lifelong passion’ for Bollywood.

Ahmed is now reportedly suing the royal for 16 million pound for the fees, the royal owes him and costs incurred by him.

Sheikh Hamad told the High Court in London that he expressed his gratitude to Ahmed for the promised liaison and that he was surprised by the claims levelled by him.

“I expressed my gratitude frequently by words and my gestures: in total, he received around 2.7 million pound from me in relation to these meetings. I considered this sum was comfortably in excess of the amount that he had incurred in costs and expenses, including in fees for the Bollywood artists. I do not think that this gives him licence to demand vast sums of money to which he is not entitled," said the royal in his witness statement.

Ahmed alleges that Hamad agreed to pay him over 1 million pound for each meeting including a bonus of more than 350,000 pound following every third meeting way back in January 2016 during a telephonic conversation. Sheikh Hamad argues that the claims are ‘fictitious’.
