For eight years legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan did not know that he was suffering from tuberculosis and recently shared that he does not mind calling himself a tuberculosis survivor.
Amitabh was attending NDTV's Swasth India launch and was speaking to doctor Harsh Vardhan urging him to spread awareness about regular check ups to facilitate early diagnosis.
The 76-year-old star has in the past been associated with various health campaigns against diseases like Polio, Hepatitis B, Tuberculosis and diabetes. Big B once again urged people to get tested and diagnosed.
Amitabh was last seen on the big screen in the Shah Rukh Khan produced thriller Badla which also starred Taapsee Pannu. He will next be seen in 11th season of Kaun Banega Crorepati and the epic period drama Sye Raa Narsimha Reddy. He also has Nagraj Manjule’s Jhund and the Emraan Hashmi starrer Chehre coming up.
