3. Rajasthan: Protestors Burn Pictures of Panipat Director Ashutosh

Ashutosh Gowariker’s film Panipat hit the screen on December 5 and is based on the gory details of the Third Battle of Panipat fought between the Marathas and the Afghans led by Ahmad Shah Abdali. The film stars Arjun Kapoor, Sanjay Dutt and Kriti Sanon.

The film has been surrounded by controversy much before the film released. Initially, Marathi novelist Vishwas Patil booked the makers of the magnum opus for copyright violation and now the Jats of Bharatpur, Rajasthan have raised an objection. According to reports, locals have raised an objection to the depiction of Maharaja Surajmal in the film.

4. Nawazuddin’s Sister Dies At 26 After Battling Cancer for 8 Years

Nawazuddin Siddiqui sister, Syama Tamshi Siddiqui, passed away on 7 December, after battling cancer for 8 years. She was only 26 years old. Syama was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 18.

According to a report in Amar Ujala, Nawaz’s brother, Ayazuddin Siddiqui, confirmed that their sister had breathed her last at a hospital in Pune. He also said that Nawazuddin was in the US for work and will return in time for the funeral.
