Sanjay Khan To Announce Next Book

Actor-producer Sanjay Khan's autobiography, The Best Mistakes Of My Life, hit stands in 2018. It has been just few months, but he is ready to announce his next book on his birthday on 3 January.

The book, titled Assalwaliakum Watan, will be Sanjay's second book.

"I don't really celebrate my birthday each year, but this year it's an exception. I'm really glad with the success that my book The Best Mistakes of My Life has garnered and I'm now planning to announce my second book Assalwaliakum Watan, on my birthday. The details of the book will be revealed on my birthday," Sanjay said in a statement.

Shah Rukh Khan to Start Work on Next Film

After his late 2018 release Zero bombed at the box office, Shah Rukh Khan is set to begin the new year on a positive note. According to a report by Mid-day, the actor will start filming for Salute, a biopic of former Indian Air Force pilot and the first Indian in space Rakesh Sharma, in February. The film is being directed by Mahesh Mathai and produced by Siddharth Roy Kapur.

Accidental Prime Minister: Case Filed Against Anupam Kher in Bihar

A case has been filed against actor Anupam Kher and others associated with upcoming film 'Accidental Prime Minister' in a Bihar court on Wednesday for damaging the image of some top people.

Lawyer Sudhir Kumar Ojha filed the case in Muzaffarpur's Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court. The court has admitted the case and fixed January 8 to hear the case in Sub Divisional Judicial Magistrate court.

Ojha in his petition complained that Anupam Kher and Akshay Khanna, who have played the role of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and his press advisor Sanjaya Baru in the film, have damaged the image of both of them. "It hurt me and many others," he said.

It’s a Dance Film for Varun Dhawan after Kalank

After the multi-starrer period drama Kalank featuring an ensemble cast including Sanjay Dutt, Alia Bhatt, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur, Varun Dhawan’s next is reportedly set to be a musical dance film.

“It chronicles the journey of the underdogs who go on to defeat the champions. While Varun leads the Indian contigent, the makers are in talks with international dancer to come on board as his competitor,” a source told Mumbai Mirror.

Actor-Writer Kader Khan to be Buried in a Canadian Cemetry

Veteran actor-writer Kader Khan, who died on New Year’s eve will be buried on 3 January at a cemetery in Canada, his son Sarfaraz said. Kader Khan died after a prolonged illness at a hospital in Canada. He was 81. "The last rites will be performed here in Canada as we have our entire family here. He (Kader Khan) is going to be buried at approximately 2:30 pm as per Canadian time at Meadowvale cemetery," Sarfaraz told PTI.

Kader Khan was reportedly suffering from progressive supranuclear palsy, a degenerative disease that causes loss of balance, difficulty in walking and dementia. Born in Kabul, Kader Khan's family migrated to Mumbai when he was a year old.

Bob Einstein of Super Dave and "Curb" Fame Dies at 76

Bob Einstein, the veteran comedy writer and performer known for "The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour," 'Curb Your Enthusiasm" and his spoof daredevil character Super Dave Osborne, has died, according to his brother, filmmaker Albert Brooks. Einstein was 76.

Einstein will be "missed forever," Brooks said in a post Wednesday on his verified Twitter account.

"R.I.P. My dear brother Bob Einstein. A great brother, father and husband. A brilliantly funny man," tweeted Brooks, 71.

Details of Einstein's death were not immediately available, reports PTI.

Hiten Tejwani to Play ACP in Digital Web Show

Actor Hiten Tejwani, popular for his work in TV shows like "Kutumb" and "Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi", will be seen as an ACP in a murder mystery web show titled "The Investigation".

"The Investigation" will explore the journey of a Mumbai Crime Branch officer, with Leena Jumani playing Hiten's wife.

"The show exposes a murder mystery and revolves around my role. The several twists and turns in the plot interested me to be a part of the crime thriller and it was a different and enjoyable experience shooting for this short-format content," Hiten said in a statement, reports IANS.

The couple's third child, daughter Chicago turns one this month, was also born through surrogacy.

Citing multiple sources, Us Weekly claimed the fourth child is a boy, who is due in "very early May".

Kardashian, 38, has been vocal about expanding her family and her difficulties in past pregnancies, reports PTI.

Netflix has urged "Bird Box" fans not to do #BirdboxChallenge due to safety concerns.

In December, the global streaming platform's popular movie "Bird Box" captured audiences and sparked debates amongst its 45 million viewers during the first week of release.

Since then, the film, starring actress Sandra Bullock, has given rise to the dangerous internet "challenge", and Netflix is urging fans of the movie not to participate, reports USAToday.com.

People have been uploading and sharing videos of themselves, wandering around blindfolded, doing the #BirdboxChallenge, which is inspired by scenes depicted in the movie, reports IANS.

In the film, Bullock (Melanie) and two children (Boy and Girl) navigate a post-apocalyptic world while blindfolded to avoid seeing an ominous figure. In "Bird Box," seeing the mysterious monster has deadly consequences.

National Award winning actor Anupam Kher, who essays the character of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in "The Accidental Prime Minister", says cinema and politics cannot be separated since one reflects the other.

The film, even before its release, has grabbed a lot of eyeballs and faced criticism for the projection of its central character and for being timed to hit the screens before the 2019 general elections.

Anupam told IANS: "Look, when the audience is going to the theatre to watch a film, they are regular cine-goers and movie lovers. They are not entering the hall as a voter.

"But yes, when they come out, the film might linger in their mind. But then, cinema and politics cannot be separated, because they are a reflection of each other."

Sonam Arora to Portray Tomboy in 'Gandii Baat 2'

Actress Sonam Arora will be seen playing a tomboy in an episode of web series Gandii Baat 2. She says while the role was challenging, it was the bold content of the show which attracted her.

ALTBalaji's Gandii Baat 2 will begin streaming on January 7.

Sonam loved the entire process -- right from her look test to dubbing -- for the character that she plays.

"Roop, the character that I play, is a complete tomboy. Right from the way she dresses, talks, her body language. This role for me was a challenging one as I played someone totally different to my true personality," she said in a statement.

"Till my look test for Roop, I simply didn't know the intricacies of the part that I was playing. What excited me was knowing the type of bold and erotic content that a show like Gandii Baat was famous for. All I can say is that Roop is just like her name, one with many sides to her. Season 1 was a colossal hit and I hope season 2 touches new heights," added Sonam, who was also seen in the film Satyamev Jayate.

Indian Panaroma Film Festival Set to Open in Delhi

A 10-day Indian Panorama Film Festival, showcasing movies that featured in the Indian Panorama section of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), will begin here on Friday.

It is being organised till January 13 by the Directorate of Film Festivals, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting at Siri Fort Auditorium II, read a PIB statement.

The festival will be inaugurated by Amit Khare, Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The directors of the opening feature film "Olu" and of the opening non-feature film "Kharvas", Shaji N. Karun and Aditya Suhas Jambhale respectively, will be present on the occasion.

A total of 26 Feature Films and 21 Non-Feature Films will be screened during the fest.
