Prateik Babbar Booked for Dangerous Driving in Goa

Actor Prateik Babbar has been booked under the Motor Vehicles Act for dangerous driving in Goa, reports ANI. His vehicle knocked down a motor-cycle driver, after entering a one-way street at Porvorim police station.

Sukhwinder Singh Joins Bollywood Music Project Line-up

Popular singer Sukhwinder has joined the line-up for the Hungama Bollywood Music Project 4.0. Known for songs like Chhaiya chhaiya, Jai ho, Gallan goodiyaan and Udi udi jaaye, he will perform on Day 2 of the music fiesta presented by Skoda Auto.

The event, to be held October 20-21, will witness Amit Trivedi as the headliner along with performances by over 60 artistes, apart from games, jamming sessions and flea stalls. Some of the other performers include Ajay-Atul, Amit Trivedi, Javed Ali and Benny Dayal.

Excel Entertainment and AA Films to present Hombale Films' KGF

Excel Entertainment has joined hands with AA Films to present Kannada's most expensive & ambitious project KGF. Starring Yash, Srinidhi Shetty, Ramya Krishna, Ananth Nag, John Kokken, Achyuth Rao in the lead, KGF is a Homabale Films production directed by Prashanth Neel, produced by Vijay Kiragandur WHILE Ravi Basrur has composed the music for KGF.

KGF would mark Excel Entertainment's first Kannada venture. The period drama traces the tenure of late 70s and will be made in two parts. The first of which will be titled KGF Chapter 1 which is slated to release on 21st December 2018.

Sneha Rajani, Ekta Kapoor in Committee to Tackle Sexual Harassment Issues

The Producers Guild of India has appointed Sneha Rajani, Head, Sony Pictures Networks Productions, to lead a committee to address the issue of sexual harassment at the workplace within the film industry.

“The Producers Guild of India is committed to work towards making workplaces in the industry safe spaces for everyone. In this regard, a special committee has been instituted within the Guild to address the issue of sexual harassment at the workplace within our industry,” read a statement issued on Wednesday.

The committee also includes industry experts Apoorva Mehta, Ekta Kapoor, Fazila Allana, Jyoti Deshpande, Kiran Rao, Kulmeet Makkar, Madhu Bhojwani, Priti Shahani, Rohan Sippy, Siddharth Roy Kapur and Vijay Singh. The first meeting of the committee was held on Wednesday.

Shekhar Kapur Makes Short Film on Water Crisis

Shekhar Kapur's "Paani" might not have seen the light of the day, but that hasnt deterred him from making a film on water crisis.

The filmmaker has collaborated with WaterAid to create a short animation "Brides of the Well", adapted from a story written by Kapur himself. It highlights water scarcity issues and how it impacts on women and girls globally, read a statement.

Narrated by "Bend it like Beckham" star Parminder Nagra, "Brides of the Well" tells the story of Saraswati and Paras, who are forced into child marriage and a life of servitude, centred around walking long distances to collect water for their aging husbands. It launched on Thursday to mark the International Day of the Girl.

Though fictional, Kapur's film highlights the plight of young girls across India who -- like those depicted in his animation movie -- are bound to a life dominated by walking long distances to collect water, reports IANS.

Dilip Kumar Discharged From Hospital

Legendary actor Dilip Kumar, 95, was on Thursday discharged here from a hospital where he was being treated for recurrent pneumonia, said his family friend.

Faisal Farooqui, who tweets on behalf of the thespian, informed his fans via social media that Dilip Kumar has been discharged from the hospital and is now resting at home.

"Doctors have advised complete rest, isolation for few days to prevent infection. Thank you all for your prayers," Farooqui wrote.

Dilip Kumar was admitted to the Lilavati Hospital here on October 7 due to severe chest congestion.

The nonagenarian, known for films like "Kohinoor", "Mughal-e-Azam", "Shakti", "Naya Daur" and "Ram Aur Shyam", was admitted to the hospital here last month too due to pneumonia.

Kangana Ranaut and Rajkummar Rao’s Mental Hai Kya will release on 29 March 2019. The film, directed by Prakash Kovelamudi, is a story about “two beautifully chaotic characters”. Written by Kanika Dhillon, the film also stars Amyra Dastur.
