Karan Johar’s Koffee With Karan this season has been steeped in controversies. And the most popular one has been Kangana Ranaut’s statement about the host being a “flag-bearer of nepotism who is intolerant to outsiders in the film industry”.

An old video of the producer has emerged in which he admits, “on some subconscious level”, to being responsible for nepotism in the industry. He talks about providing a launchpad to star kids, Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan and how that may have been because of their lineage. In an honest tell-all, he also speaks about this being a sad reality of the industry.

Take a look:

After the episode, Karan had also warned Kangana about leaving the industry if she has such a big problem with it.

“I’m done with Kangana playing the woman and victim card. I am done! You cannot be this victim every time and have a sad story to tell about how you’ve been terrorised by the bad world of the industry… leave it,” said Karan Johar had said at an event.
