1. Sanjay Dutt’s Intense Look as Villain in ‘KGF Chapter 2’ Revealed

After much speculation, the makers of Yash-starrer KGF Chapter 2 have confirmed Sanjay Dutt will feature in the sequel to 2018 drama KGF Chapter 1. They revealed the look of his character Adheera on 29 July, his 60th birthday. The film mark Sanjay Dutt’s debut in the south Indian film industry.

2. ‘Prasthanam’ Teaser: Sanjay Schemes in Gritty Political Drama

After revealing his character in KGF Chapter 2, Sanjay Dutt had another treat for fans with the release of the teaser for his upcoming film Prasthanam, a political drama based on the 2010 Telugu film of the same name. It has been directed by Deva Katta, who also helmed the original, and produced by Sanjay S Dutt Productions. The film also stars Jackie Shroff, Manisha Koirala, Ali Fazal, Chunky Pandey, Satyajeet Dubey and Amyra Dastur.

3. Too Eerie to Be a Coincidence: Richa on Unnao Survivor’s Accident

Actor Richa Chadha reacted to the news of the Unnao rape survivor being injured in an apparent car accident, saying that the incident was “too eerie to be a coincidence.” Two people were arrested hours after the Unnao woman, who levelled rape accusations against BJP MLA Kuldeep Sengar, was critically injured on Sunday, 28 July, in a car-truck collision near Uttar Pradesh’s Raebareli.

Richa shared a tweet detailing the timeline of the case on Monday, writing, “And surely these are all coincidences...? straight out of a 90s film... A scary and crap one. Proves again, not only is there no rule of law in UP, if you want to experience kalyug, make a trip. It's where kids die for lack of oxygen and rape victims are crushed under trucks.”

5. Case Filed Against Celebs Who Penned Letter to PM on Hate Crimes

A case has been filed against Aparna Sen, Konkona Sen Sharma and other celebs who wrote a letter to Modi in protest of mob lynchings.

A petition was filed in a Bihar court on Saturday, 27 July, against nine persons, including Aparna Sen, Revathi and Konkona Sen Sharma, who were among those who had written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the lynching of minorities and hate crimes. It was filed by an advocate before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate under sections 124A (sedition), 153B (assertions prejudicial to national integration), 290 (public nuisance), 297 (trespass to wound religious feelings) and 504 (intentional insults) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), reports ANI.
