1. Gandhiji Needs to Be Reloaded: SRK at Event Hosted by PM Modi

On Saturday, 19 October, Prime Minister Narendra Modi met several Bollywood actors and filmmakers, including Shah Rukh Khan and Aamir Khan, to discuss initiatives to mark the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. A cultural video based on Gandhi's life, teachings and values featuring eight leading actors was also shown during the interaction at PM Modi's official residence.

Shah Rukh Khan was his usual witty self at the event. He started by saying that Bollywood actors never manage to make time to meet up.

2. Jennifer Lawrence & Cooke Maroney Tie the Knot in Lavish Ceremony

Jennifer Lawrence tied the knot with art gallerist Cooke Maroney on Saturday, 19 October. The couple got engaged in February this year after dating for around a year.

The wedding took place at Rhode Island’s Belcourt of Newport, the home of Alex and Ani CEO Carolyn Rafaelian. The picturesque venue was inspired by Louis XIII’s Versailles hunting lodge.

3. Rajamouli’s Baahubali Gets Standing Ovation at Royal Albert Hall

Baahubali makes history at Royal Albert Hall, London.

A proud moment for not just team Baahubali but for India as well, as the film got a standing ovation at Royal Albert Hall in London. Baahubali - The Beginning is the only non-English film to be screened at the Royal Albert Hall in London ever since its inauguration 148 years ago. Post the screening the audience gave the film a standing ovation.

The Baahubali team comprising of SS Rajamouli, Prabhas, Anushka Shetty, Rana Dagubati and producer Shobhu Yarlagadda had a reunion in London for this grand event.

4. South Film Industry Was Neglected: Ram Charan’s Wife Upasana to PM

Upasana has questioned PM Narendra Modi for only prioritising the Hindi film industry. 

Several Bollywood celebrities including Shah Rukh Khan, Aamir Khan, Kangana Ranaut, Ekta Kapoor, Rajkumar Hirani, Kapil Sharma, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sajid Nadiadwala, among others, met and interacted with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the Change Within initiative in New Delhi, on the evening of 19 October.

The focus was on inviting the film industry to create films and television shows that popularise Mahatma Gandhi and Gandhism, to mark the 150th birth anniversary of the Father of the Nation.

Now, South actor Ram Charan’s wife Upasana has taken to social media to question PM Modi as to why no actor from the South was present for the occasion.

5. Arjun Kapoor Roped in as Brand Ambassador for Chelsea FC

Arjun Kapoor is the official brand ambassador of Chelsea FC. 

Arjun Kapoor has been roped in as the Brand Ambassador of Chelsea Football Club (FC) for India. The actor calls it a dream come true and a surreal feeling.

Arjun took to Instagram and Twitter, where he shared a photograph of himself with Frank Lampard, the manager of English professional football club Chelsea.
