Deepika Back to Work on ‘Chhapaak’ With This Throwback Picture
She was as cute then as she is lovely now.
Deepika Padukone is back to work after her much-covered wedding with Ranveer Singh. She has started prepping for her next, Chhapaak. She is turning producer with the Meghna Gulzar film which tells the inspiring story of acid attack survivor Laxmi Agarwal. Laxmi was attacked in 2005 in Delhi, at the age of 15, by a man whose advances she had rejected. She has since become an influential advocate for other acid attack survivors.
Deepika shared the news with a throwback picture of herself as a child all set for school. She captioned it: “back to school...🎒 #Chhapaak”.
Deepika described the film in a tweet as “a story of trauma and triumph. And the unquashable human spirit”.
Produced by Fox Star Studios, the film will also star Vikrant Massey.
