‘Badla’ BO: Big B-Taapsee Film Is a Hit, to Pass Rs 50 Crore

Sujoy Ghosh-directed Badla starring Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu and Amrita Singh has earned Rs 48.65 crore domestically since its release on 8 March. According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the thriller is a hit and will cross Rs 50 crore in India this weekend.

“#Badla is a HIT... Witnesses solid growth on [second] Sat... Will cross ₹ 50 cr today [Sun]... Superb trending... Will score even after #Kesari release... Has potential to cross ₹ 75 cr... [Week 2] Fri 4.05 cr, Sat 6.60 cr. Total: ₹ 48.65 cr. India biz. Gross BOC: ₹ 57.40 cr,” he tweeted.

Earlier the film surpassed the opening weekend business of Big B and Taapsee’s 2016 drama Pink, which earned Rs 21.51 crore in its first weekend.

The film earned Rs 5.04 crore at the box-office on its first day. Adarsh noted that Badla is expected to pick up speed in metros due to strong word of mouth.

Badla is an official remake of the Spanish thriller Contratiempo (The Invisible Guest) and is produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment.

SRK took to Twitter to thank fans for the love shown towards Badla. The actor also shared another video with Big B as a parting gift.
