French DJ David Guetta has been a regular performer at music festivals across major cities in India. This year, too, he was set to perform at the Sunburn festival in Bengaluru, Mumbai, Hyderabad and then New Delhi.

Bengaluru folks were looking forward to a concert on Thursday night but alas, the gig was cancelled.

The organisers cited “law and order situation” after the shocking molestation incident during New Year’s eve.

Some reports suggested that the concert was asked to be rescheduled as the event would clash with Agricultural Produce Market Committee elections and the police could not afford to assign manpower for both events.

Sunburn organizer Shailendra Singh said that, “being citizens of India we must abide by what authorities say.”

‘What Next? Cancelling Schools?’

While the disheartened gig-goers look for their ticket refund, Twitter was abuzz and some questioned the real motive behind the scrapping of the event. Others point at the government for “suppressing art” and its inability to maintain “law and order”.
