The Rahman giveth, and the Rahman taketh away’ - old Chennai saying.

After the tragedy of the ‘Humma Humma’ remix, Chennai's god of music, AR Rahman, decided to make the world a better place. So he revisited the song ‘Urvasi Urvasi’ – from the Prabhu Deva-starrer, Kadhalan (1994).

Just one word: ThalaivARR!

It appears as though the lyrics of the new, unplugged version of the song have also been upgraded. Sample these:

“If 500 notes go funk, take it easy policy!”
“If 1,000 notes go funk, take it easy policy!”

The new lyrics (which have been mixed in with the old) were crowdsourced from Facebook. AR Rahman asked his fans (on FB) to send in their entries for the new version. While he did ask people to avoid references to Hilary Clinton or Donald Trump, they are now a part of the song.

For those of you who enjoy a bit of hip hop, here’s a version by Will.I.Am featuring Cody Wise.
