Amitabh Bachchan’s public letter to his granddaughters garnered quite a few responses. However, the one most valuable to him was probably his elder granddaughter Navya Naveli’s who said she would “exactly” follow it.
At an event for his latest film Pink, Amitabh Bachchan said:
On his daughter and Navya’s mother, Shweta’s reaction to the letter, he said:
In the letter, Bachchan senior attempted to impart valuable life lessons to his granddaughters Navya Naveli Nanda (Shweta and Nikhil Nanda’s daughter) and Aaradhya Bachchan (Abhishek and Aishwarya’s daughter).
In light of his latest release Pink, people wondered if the much-publicised letter was just a promotional gimmick. To this, Amitabh Bachchan said:
Pink’s co-producer Shoojit Sircar suggested that a letter to his granddaughters would not only be a “nice gesture” but would help Bachchan communicate the “essence of the film” without actually “revealing the story”.
Pink, which was released on Friday, has garnered a very positive response at the box office. A must-watch, the movie raises questions on the stigmas and stereotypes attached to women.
