It’s the year of The Ban. And guess what? It’s contagious! But this time it’s not food or clothes or a film, but a person. Yes. Singer Sonu Nigam has been banned by Zee Media. Here’s why - he raised his finger and retweeted in support of his poetic friend and AAP leader, Kumar Vishwas.
This retweet was a video aired by Zee News that allegedly ‘quoted’ Kumar Vishwas as saying, ‘Latak Gaya’ during the farmer’s rally in which Gajendra Singh had allegedly committed suicide.
Sonu Nigam commented, “I am far from politics but I feel this truth should come out for the sake of my poet friend Kumar Vishwas.”
According to media reports, Zee music will not buy any music which has the singer’s name on it.
Hearing this, the Kal Ho Naa Ho singer tweeted series of tweets.
He might not have the music company’s support but he sure has twitteratti to back him with #IStandWithSonuNigam.
Sonu Nigam was overwhelmed by the support of his friends and fans and tweeted:
