Actor Richard Gere, well-known for the 1990 romantic comedy Pretty Woman, in which he co-stars with Julia Roberts, celebrates his 66th birthday on August 31, 2015.
Gere, who has been a long-time supporter of various humanitarian causes, ranging from AIDS awareness campaigns to global initiatives to promote peace and understanding, has most recently taken up the plight of the urban homeless as the subject for his film, Time Out of Mind. The movie, which he both produces and stars in, releases in September.
