Bharatiya Janata Party President Amit Shah is convinced that only his party in association with the Badals can sustain peace and harmony in Punjab. For him, the Congress’s Captain Amarinder Singh presents a strange case. In a thinly-attended rally in Amritsar on Monday, Shah sought to mock Singh, stopping short of calling him a puppet.

But his worst attack was reserved for Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Chief Arvind Kejriwal. According to Shah, members of the AAP have been portraying Punjab in a negative way across the country. If that’s not enough, Shah thinks that Kejriwal has been paying little attention to Delhi, as he moves from one poll-bound state to the other.

In recent months, Kejriwal and his Aam Aadmi Party have campaigned extensively in Punjab. This has made the ruling SAD-BJP alliance quite jittery.
