If Punjab minister Navjot Singh Sidhu wants to continue his career in television, he may have to switch his ministry, said state Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh.
On Monday, Singh said he would seek legal opinion on the matter after Sidhu made it clear that he intends to continue with his work on TV.
After seeking advice from Attorney General Atul Nanda, Singh said:
Sidhu was sworn-in along with eight other cabinet ministers last week. Amid expectations that he would be made Deputy Chief Minister, Sidhu was handed the Local Bodies Ministry, as well as Culture.
Several speculated that his decision to carry on his TV career was a display of his disappointment at being jilted.
However, when asked about the Captain’s objections, Sidhu simply said: “The boss is always right.”
