Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati trained her guns at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and called his government a “sinking ship.” She also said that the BJP’s ideological mentor RSS has also abandoned the party.

“PM Modi’s government is a sinking ship and it is evident from the fact that even the RSS has abandoned the party,” Mayawati said in a tweet.

She also said that the country needs a “pure” prime minister who can run the nation in accordance with the constitution.

The latest attack comes a day after Mayawati accused Modi of showing love towards Dalits for political gains and even hit out at the prime minister for leaving his wife.

Mayawati’s remarks drew sharp criticism from Union ministers including Nirmala Sitharaman, Arun Jaitley and Prakash Javadekar.

Mayawati also slammed the politicians for holding road shows ahead of the elections and visiting temples. She said it has become “fashionable” to do so adding that the cost of these should be included in a candidate’s expenditure.
