The Quint traveled to Panapakkam village in Tamil Nadu’s northern most district, Thiruvallur. The district is known for its ground water reserves and fertile agricultural land that rivals the Tanjore rice belt. But the farmers have stories and worries to share –of the depleting ground water reserves; a proposed highway that cuts right through their land; of milestones being placed on their land against their will; and of the ever-depleting ground water reserve.

Small and marginal farmers from the surrounding villages gather at Panapakkam for a Quint Exclusive Chaupal.
