COVID-19: 4.73% Positivity Rate in Delhi, But More Cases Reported Than Yesterday

As India continues to witnesses a decline in COVID-19 cases, the country logged 1,61,386 new coronavirus cases and 2,81,109 recoveries on Wednesday, 2 February.

The national capital, on Wednesday, 2 February, reported 3,028 new cases — 345 more than Tuesday (2,683), 27 fatalities and 4,679 recoveries.
The country, on the other hand, logged 1,61,386 new coronavirus cases and 2,81,109 recoveries on Wednesday, 2 February. India also recorded 1,733 new deaths in the last 24 hours.
The number of active cases in the country currently stands at 16,21,603. So far, 167.29 crore vaccine doses have been administered.
The daily positivity rate dropped to 9.26 percent from Tuesday's 11.6 percent, while the weekly positivity rate is at 14.15 percent.
Meanwhile, Mumbai has lifted night curfew and eased other restrictions on restaurants and theatres, while the city recorded 803 new cases and seven COVID-related deaths in the last 24 hours.

Mizoram Reports 2,573 New Cases
Mizoram reported 2,573 new COVID-19 cases and three deaths in the last 24 hours.
The active cases currently stand at 15,338.
Zydus Begins Supplies of Its Three-dose COVID-19 Vaccine ZyCoV-D
Zydus has started supplies of its three-dose COVID-19 vaccine ZyCoV-D to Government of India, the company said in a statement.
The pharmaceutical company is also planning to make the vaccine available in the private market, news agency ANI reported.
Indian Contingent's Manager at Beijing Winter Olympics Test Positive
Indian Olympic Association (IOA) President Narinder Batra informed on Wednesday, that Abbas Wani, manager of the Indian contingent at Beijing Winter Olympics, has tested COVID positive at Beijing Airport.
Chef De Mission Harjinder Singh is coordinating for a re-test. Meanwhile, the athlete and his coach have been shifted to another flat to avoid any interaction.
Puducherry Logs 742 New COVID-19 Cases
Puducherry registers 742 COVID-19 cases and 6 fatalities in the last 24 hours. Number of active cases stand at 6,852.
Kerala Reports 52k New Cases
Kerala reports 52,199 new cases, 41,715 recoveries & 29 deaths in last 24 hrs. The active caseload in the state is 3,77,823.
Delhi Logs 3,028 New Cases
Delhi on Wednesday, reported 3,028 new cases, 27 fatalities and 4,679 recoveries. The positivity rate is 4.73% and 14,870.active cases have been reported.
Gujarat Reports 8,934 New Cases
Gujarat reports 8,934 new COVID-19 cases, 15,177 recoveries and 34 deaths in the last 24 hours. Active cases in the state stand and 69,187 the death toll is 10,545.
Bengal Reports 2723 New Cases
Bengal reports total of 2723 new cases, and a positivity rate of 4.61%.
Some Players & Support Stuff Have Tested COVID Positive: BCCI Treasurer
Arun Kumar Dhumal, BCCI Treasurer reportedly told ANI on Tuesday:
"It has been brought to the notice that some players and some support staff have tested positive for COVID-19."
BCCI is watching the situation, Dhumal further added.
Assam Reports 1,028 New Cases
Assam on Wednesday, reported 1,028 new COVID-19 cases, 5,293 recoveries and 18 deaths in the last 24 hours.
Active cases in the state are present at 15,178.
Karnataka Reports 20,505 New Cases
Karnataka on Wednesday, reported 20,505 new COVID-19 cases, 40,903 recoveries and 81 deaths in the last 24 hours.
Active cases in the state are presently at 1,77,244.
Tamil Nadu Reports 14,013 New Cases
Tamil Nadu on Wednesday, reported 14,013 new COVID-19 cases, 24,576 recoveries and 37 deaths in the last 24 hours.
