India on Wednesday, 12 August, reported 60,963 new coronavirus cases, taking the tally in the country to 23,29,639. The death toll increased by 834 to 46,091.

According to the Health Ministry data, there are now 6,43,948 active cases across the country, while 16,39,599 patients have been discharged.

2.6 Cr Samples Tested for COVID-19 Till Now: ICMR

As many as 2,60,15,297 samples have been tested for COVID-19 till 11 August, of which 7,33,449 samples were tested on Tuesday, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said.

1,876 New COVID-19 Cases in Odisha; Tally Rises to 50,672

Odisha has reported 1,876 new COVID-19 cases and nine fatalities, taking the tally in the state to 50,672 and the death toll to 305.

481 New COVID-19 Cases in Puducherry; 96 in Arunachal

The Union territory of Puducherry has reported 481 new COVID-19 cases and five fatalities, officials said on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, 96 new COVID-19 cases, including of 61 security personnel, were reported in Arunachal Pradesh, taking the tally to 2,327.

9 New Cases in Dharavi

At least 9 new COVID-19 positive cases have been reported in Dharavi area of Mumbai today, taking the total number of cases to 2,643, including 87 active cases and 2,298 discharges, the BMC said.

National Expert Group on Vaccine Administration for COVID19 Meets

National Expert Group on Vaccine Administration for COVID19 met for the first time today and deliberated on a strategy to ensure COVID-19 vaccines’ availability and its delivery mechanism, the Health Ministry said in a statement. The meeting was chaired by Dr V K Paul, Member Niti Aayog.

Tamil Nadu Reports 5,871 New COVID-19 Cases

Tamil Nadu reported 5,871 new COVID-19 cases, taking the total number of cases to 3,14,520 including 5,278 deaths and 52,929 active cases.

1,212 New COVID-19 Cases in Kerala

1,212 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Kerala. Of these new cases, 1,068 contracted the infection through local transmission, ANI quoted CM Pinarayi Vijayan as saying.

41 New Cases in Manipur

At least 41 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported in Manipur in the last 24 hours. The state's total cases tally now stands at 3,982 including 1,739 active cases, 2,231 recovered cases and 11 deaths.

1.020 New Cases in Punjab

At least 1,020 new COVID-19 cases were reported in Punjab today, taking the total number of cases to 26,909, including 9,022 active cases, 17,212 recovered cases and 675 deaths.

480 New Cases in Goa

At least 480 new COVID-19 cases and 161 recoveries were reported in Goa today, as of 6 pm. The total number of cases in the state is now at 9,924, including 3,194 active cases, 6,641 recovered, and 89 deaths.

India Extends $1 Mn Assistance to Antigua and Barbuda for Combating COVID-19

India has extended an assistance of $1 million to the government of Antigua and Barbuda for combating the COVID19 pandemic.
