I’m Not a North Indian or a South Indian; I’m an Indian! Period

At times, I think freedom is one big illusion.

We know ours is a democratic country and we have certain rights. But can we actually exercise these rights? We have the freedom to live in any part of the country, then why are we labeled North Indian or South Indian or North Eastern? Why are slogans like ‘son of the soil’ promoted? We too are from the same soil. Then why the difference? We need to end this. We are Indian! Period.

There is another thing that bothers me a lot and that’s sexual slavery. I would like to free our country from sexual slavery. Free the women and the children who have been dragged into this awful business. All political parties talk about women empowerment but they ignore this issue.

It’s high time we spoke about women’s equality and empowerment.

Yours sincerely,

A citizen of India.
