Ferrari, the Italian beauty is all set to make its grand entry on Indian roads today. California T, a convertible
that was launched globally last year, will soon be seen zooming past on pot-holed
filled roads of Mumbai and Delhi – two cities that have authorised dealership
and would accept bookings.
According to media reports, it will be priced at Rs3.3 crore (ex-showroom Mumbai). Clearly with that price tag only the rich and famous would be able to warm the seats of this swanky car.
This got us thinking at The Quint as to who’ll buy the Italian charmer and who might not be able to.
Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh
You wouldn’t expect a rockstar of his caliber to travel in just any four-wheeler. Nah, no Sir. The California T convertible best suits the baap of all godmen.
Picture this: Guruji in a Swarovski studded convertible driving past the lush green farmlands of Haryana and singing Love Charger and spreading the message of love.
Priyanka Chopra
Piggy Chops loves everything phoren. Be it singing and shaking a leg with videshi baldies (read Pitbull), working in an Amrikan show, and getting a fake accent. Driving a Ferrari in India would probably be next on her agenda. Who knows, she might get an Italian accent too.
Rahul Gandhi
This Raksha Bhandhan, Priyanka Gandhi would probably gift her baby brother Rahul a Ferrari – the perfect getaway car for his next sabbatical to Neverland. According to reports, the California T can hit 62 mph from a standstill in just 3.6 seconds. With that speed Rahul baba can easily cross seven seas and reach Italy, home for both Ferrari and him.
Radhe Maa
She ain’t nothing like a Maa, the glam avatar of the desi self-styled godwoman Radhe Mom (sounds much chic) is the most unconventional Guru. She dances to dhinchak Bollywood numbers, loves to flaunt her legs in mini-skirt, sips on Coca-Cola and blesses her devotees with jadhoo ki jhappis and pappis. A swanky red convertible would add to her “pure and pies” image.
Aaradhya Bachchan
Rumours had it that papa Abhishek Bachchan gifted his darling one-year-old daughter Aaradhya with a red Mini Cooper. He did NOT, clarified dada Amitabh Bachchan. Obviously, papa cool can now gift his baby girl with a sexy convertible. After all All Is Well with mama Aishwarya Rai Bachchan making her comeback on the big screen.
Unfortunately there are a few rich Indians who would only get to sit at the back seat of this dream machine.
Vijay Mallya
The King of Good Times Vijay Mallya – who probably got a reason to celebrate after hearing the news of Heineken eyeing to control the Kingfisher beer maker – is now gulping away his sorrow after the debut of Ferrari in India. The beer baron is left with no fizz to afford the car.
