The world’s most popular movie rental and streaming site, Netflix, went all out this April Fool’s Day when they ‘leaked’ this video of actor John Stamos freaking out at their office when he ‘discovers’ that a documentary, released earlier by Netflix, was all just a gag.

Monday: #NationalFilmAwards

Bollywood dominated the 63rd National Film Awards which were announced on Monday. Three wins out of the four main categories went to Hindi films while the Best Film was given to Telugu film Baahubali. Bollywood also dominated some of the special award categories such as the Best Popular Film and Best Debut Director.

Tuesday: #EgyptAir Hijack

An EgyptAir plane flying from Alexandria to Cairo was hijacked and forced to land in Cyprus on Tuesday. Fortunately, all passengers and crew were freed unharmed and the hijacker, who allegedly wanted to contact his ex-wife, was arrested after he surrendered to the authorities.            

Wednesday: #TajMahal

In an incident that one can’t help but see as a metaphor for the current situation in India, a committee responsible for the beautification and preservation of the Taj Mahal damaged one of its minar’s.

Thursday: #KolkataFlyoverCollapse

Several people were reported dead and many others injured after an under-construction flyover in Girish Park area in Kolkata collapsed. The flyover was being constructed by the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority.

Friday: #AprilFools Day

All internet users woke up to a plethora of digital pranks and jokes on this day dedicated to the worldwide celebration of tomfoolery.

Saturday: #PratyushaBanerjee

Popular TV actress Pratyusha Banerjee, who shot to fame as Anandi in the drama series Balika Vadhu, was found dead at her suburban residence on Friday in a suspected case of suicide.
