It’s the new year and Delhi has made its odd-even debut. While the world welcomed the new year with a bang, Delhi cops welcomed Delhiwallas with love-letters from Arvind Kejriwal in the form of challans, for not following the much talked about odd-even scheme.
So were you naughty and got caught by a thulla? And what was your excuse to wriggle yourself out of this mess? You forgot what date it is. You’re late to pick up your mother-in-law from the airport. Or the good ol’ ‘tu jaanta nahi mein kaun hu!
We say, these are pretty aam excuses.
Ever wondered what excuses our stars would give if they were caught in Delhi’s odd-even formula? In what filmy andaaz would they try to get out of this soup?
Salman Khan
‘It wasn’t me.’
‘I wasn’t even in the car.’
‘Are you sure it was even a car?’
Sounds familiar, and ridiculous? Well, not if spoken by Bhai himself. And when they got him out of a murder case, what is a tuchch odd-even plan?
Aamir Khan
Aamir Khan has cried out ‘intolerance’ against the Delhi cops for holding him for his number plate. The actor was sad that the Dillwallon ki Dilli couldn’t tolerate one odd numbered car.
The teary Aamir is also upset that his Atithi Devo Bhava (the guest is God) campaign has not taught the Kejriwal-led state anything. The Satyamev Jayate morel entrepreneur even tried to reason it out with the thulla, explaining the crux of Athithi Devo Bhava – he’s a guest, and therefore god, so he should be spared from being fined.
Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol
It doesn’t take the Bollywood’s awesomest jodi – Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol – to convince the cops as to why the rule is not applicable to them.
1) It’s been five years and four months since the couple were last seen together in a car.
2) They are the true brand ambassadors of Delhi (DDLJ and Dilwale). Name any other jodi that has promoted Delhi so extensively.
3) They are the only jodi that has encouraged and flaunted North India’s true festival – Karwa Chauth.
4) It’s SRK. A true Delhi ka chhora!
The ‘kkk-cops’ might get convinced, but they will still go ahead and fine the favourite Bollywood duo for making Dilwale.
Rajinikanth
The odd-even scheme is not applicable to Sir Rajini. Yenna Rascalla! He shall not follow the odd-even formula, instead the odd-even formula will follow him.
Confused?
Simple, the Delhi government will now call it the six-alphabet – Rajini (even) day and 11-alphabet Rajinikanth (odd) day.
