In the wake of the explosion at pop star Ariana Grande’s concert in Manchester Arena on Monday night, Britain’s political parties have agreed to suspend election campaigning until further notice.
The alleged suicide blast killed 22 people and injured around 59 others.
Jeremy Corbyn, leader of the opposition Labour Party, said in a statement that he had spoken to Prime Minister Theresa May and had agreed that all national campaigning for the June 8 election would be suspended.
Liberal Democrat leader Tim Farron cancelled a campaign tour to Gibraltar after the deadly explosion.
UKIP leader Paul Nuttall has also followed suit and decided to not campaign.
Prime Minister May said earlier that the incident in the northern English city was being treated as a terrorist attack and a meeting with the top security committee will be held on Tuesday.
