Why Does iPhone 7 Cost Rs 60,000 in India?
iPhone 7 costs 35 percent more in India than US, here’s why!
Apple iPhone 7 launched at an event in San Francisco on 7 September. The cheapest iPhone 7 is for $649 in USA.
Apple’s latest flagship launches on 7 October in India for a whopping Rs. 60,000 for the 32GB variant
Apple, who is facing declining smartphone sales for the last three quarters globally, is in a sticky position with Android’s increasing popularity and cheaper alternatives available with superior hardware.
With each iPhone sold, Apple makes a staggering 130 percent profit. If they are serious about penetrating India, the world’s second largest mobile phone market, then they must consider reducing their profit margin and increasing distribution to reach more customers. But from the launch price of Rs. 60,000, it appears Apple is pretty set in its stubborn ways and would rather opt for the high profit margin and sell less phones, than make less profit and sell a higher number of devices.
