A female freestyle footballer has racked up nearly 30,000 online fans with her impressive moves – and says she doesn’t let sexist comments stand in her way.
Caitlyn Schrepfer spent 15 years playing football from a very young age but became hooked on freestyle when a hip flexor injury she obtained in August 2013 forced her to quit the sport.
The 20-year-old, from Placentia, California, is now one of the highest ranked professional female freestylers in the USA and has racked up thousands of Facebook and Instagram followers who are jealous of her slick skills.
Caitlyn got into football as a youngster because her dad was a coach and her brother also played and after injury forced her off the pitch the only thing she could do while resting was juggle the ball.
She quickly picked up some tricks before meeting other LA freestylers who welcomed her onto their performance team and now gets to travel the world showing off her ball balancing abilities.
Caitlyn currently performs for freestyle team Innovation LA and recently took to one of the biggest stages in the world at the Radio City Music Hall in the Rockerfeller Centre in New York.
She has also performed on Broadway and was the only woman to rank in the top 16 freestylers in North America at her last international competition in San Diego in December. (Inputs: AP/Caters News)
