This hilarious footage shows a unique perspective on how different animals drink water. The images were captured by Elad Hershkowitz, a zookeeper at the Zoological Center in Tel Aviv, Israel, by placing a GoPro camera at the bottom of water troughs.
The 26-year-old documented lions, giraffes, lemurs, elephants, pelicans and ostriches for his project. Innovative Elad said:
I had the idea whilst walking around the enclosures and I saw the zebras drinking. It made me curious to see what was going on below so I decided to check how the rest of the animals drink.
Carnivores, like lions, drink a lot like domesticated cats and dogs. Herbivores like the rhinos and zebras suck up the water with their lips.
Originally some of the animals were sceptical about the unfamiliar object being in the bottom of their trough. Israeli Elad said:
At first, some tried to check it by placing their paws and hooves in the trough first. Eventually they got used to the camera and drank freely.
