The Quint’s Ground Report Shows Mumbai Unprepared for Monsoons

As the first rains hit Mumbai on June 11, water logging began due to incomplete and selective pre-monsoon cleaning.

Mumbai saw its first monsoon showers on 11 June. As expected, the heavy rains lead to water logging in several low-lying areas such as Sion, Matunga and Bandra. In the run-up to the monsoons, The Quint ventured into the crevices of the city only to find that the BMC’s preparatory work let much to be decided while many areas, like the slums were neglected entirely.
