Now that the first three phases of polling is over in Bihar, Nitish Kumar, the present Chief Minister of Bihar, is more confident about the prospects of the Grand Alliance’s win and BJP’s defeat.

In an interview with ANI’s Smita Prakash, he said:

BJP has done nothing significant in the last 17 months of their rule at the Centre. Neither have they fulfilled any of the promises made during the general elections, nor have they set an example of good governance that can be emulated.

He also said that BJP is more interested in winning one state after another and not on governance.

All they are focused on is winning the elections in one state, and then, following it with an aim to win in another. They have got the mandate to run the government at the Centre and serve the people, but what they are seeking is absolute power and they are working on the basis of that strategy only.

In the interview, he emphatically rejected suggestions that his Mahagatbandhan, comprising the JD-U, RJD and Congress, and the BJP-led NDA are running neck and neck in the elections.
