A second batch of Indians have returned from Yemen on Friday night. The combined rescue operations of Indian Navy and Air Force brought back a total of 664 Indians have returned so far. Two aircrafts each carrying over 300 people each landed in Mumbai on Friday night and a special Indian Airlines plane reached the Kochi airport around the same time.

A group of 46 people from Tamil Nadu also landed in Mumbai. Officials from the Tamil Nadu state government were at the airport to welcome them. Sources say, the state government had arranged for their travel to their respective destinations.

The rescued Indians were brought to Djibouti from Sanaa after the Indian government managed to secure the necessary permissions.

Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy requested the central government to reach out to aid workers in Yemen and ask for help in bringing back those still stranded in areas where violence has escalated.
