Badshah has become one of the top rap sensations of the country ever since his debut in 2006. The singer who is known for his songs like ‘Mercy’ and ‘Buzz’, has just released his first single for kids for the Sony YAY! show KickO & Super Speedo.

With his popularity increasing every day, the singer recently made a snazzy new addition to his family with a new Rolls-Royce Wraith. When he was asked about the car, Badshah said, “Yes, of course. I thought about it and that’s why I bought it.” He later added that he’s proud of his new ride.

When asked about the reason he chose ‘Cool Equal’ to be his stage name, he commented, “It was my email ID man - coolequal@hotmail.com.” Talking about the reason he switched to ‘Badshah’, the singer said that he is a huge fan of Shah Rukh Khan.

“I am a huge Shah Rukh Khan fan. Then I was looking for a stage name and that’s when the film ‘Baadshah’ released. I was like that’s a sick name. So, I went with Badshah.”

The B-town singer stands out for his unique sense of style, often being spotted wearing Balenciaga. To a Twitter user’s question about whether he owns the company, the star replied, “It’s not my company. I was in the store recently, 3-4 days ago. This was in Dubai and there was this Indian guy there who saw me and was stunned. He says, ‘You know, I’ve come here because of you.’ He started telling the people at the store that he’s come there because of me.”

Fans of the singer also wondered why he wasn’t seen in the Ranveer Singh starrer Gully Boy. To that, the singer replied, “I’m not a gully boy, bro. That genre of music represents their culture. I’ve grown up in the North and I’ve been surrounded by a lot of machismo, the Punjabi machismo. That is why I tend to write about cars and the alpha male things. So, it depends. A boy from Srinagar might not be able to write Gully Boy’s lyrics. He’ll write about his situation. So, I think it’s all about the culture.”
