2. Smriti Irani Loses HRD Ministry
Kyunki Textile Minister Bhi Kabhi HRD Minister Thi... The biggest talking point of the Cabinet reshuffle on Tuesday has been Smriti Irani losing the Ministry of Human Resources Development to Prakash Javadekar. Irani has been moved to the Textile Ministry.
3. Jail Sentences for Lionel Messi & Oscar Pistorius
Two sports stars were handed prison sentences today. Oscar Pistorius was sentenced to six years in prison for the murder of his girlfriend – a sentence that observers immediately criticised as lenient. Barcelona star Messi has been sentenced to 21 months in prison and fined 2 million euros ($2.2 million) after being found guilty on three counts of tax fraud.
However, while Pistorius is heading directly to jail, Messi may not, as in Spain it is customary that those sentenced to under two years for non-violent crimes do not serve time in jail.
